I have an unhealthy obsession with pink every January.  Although I am not gaga over Valentine's Day I do love the plethora of pink in all shades that shows up for the first few months of every year ... and this year is no disappointment.  The shades are brighter and bolder than ever and there is not a single piece of a wardrobe that isn't subject to turning up pink.  The question is what to get first?!

Ok ... so while I was being obsessed with Pinterest yesterday I found a new inspiration image.  The best part is that I had already ordered Euro shams with my monogram on them in light gray last week ... making this image that much more appropriate.  However, my day got even better when I discovered the mirror below on One King's Lane!  And my luck didn't stop there - the $600 mirror was on sale for $79!!!!  Hallelujah!!!  So I did what any (in)sane southern woman would do and I purchased it without measuring ... and this is where my luck sways a bit.  While it is a little large to put above the bed that just means it will have to find a home elsewhere .. my office perhaps?

master {inspiration}

I'm in the process, or rather have been in the process for quite some time now, of redecorating our master bedroom.  Part of the problem is that the house was entirely painted tan when we moved in - this is great for an easy and smooth beginning but after a few years tan begins to look extremely drab and almost like a model home instead of your own.  I've managed to paint a majority of the rooms in our house but the ones that remain either require an enormous amount of moving furniture or are crazy large.  And let's face it, as an art historian it is almost impossible for me to choose one color and stick with it for any amount of time.  However, I have finally found a grey I can settle on and I actually already bought the paint in order to keep me from changing my mind ... again.

In my opinion  this spring is ushering in a new world of color and I couldn't be more ecstatic!  The hot pinks, turquoises, and every shade in between are here to stay for quite a while and it doesn't hurt that they exude happiness.  I can't wait to get my hands on that lipstick and not to mention to fabulous statue of "Linus" ... maybe he will quit eating my curtains if I get him a life size statue ... probably not.

Yes, my parents have always taught me to be both a gracious winner as well as a gracious loser but every southern woman has her moment and today I have to gloat one time ... sorry mom and dad.  Fourteen National Championships is no small feat ... ROLL TIDE!!!

Every year when January roles around I can't help but begin to crave a bold pop of pink.  I absolutely love hot pink and what better time to sport the color than when the cold air is about to usher in Valentine's day, Mardi Gras, and the hopes of an early spring.  If I had an endless supply of money the above would be my first outfit purchase of the year.  Today I show you the full-priced version and tomorrow I will show you the real person version.  The price difference will make you sick with envy at my talents of finding what I want without having to cut my arm off for payment.

3 {is a magic number}

Thomas officially turned 3 yesterday!  None of us can believe how far he has come and what an incredible little boy he now embodies.  As an early birthday present his Aunt Wee Wee {i secretly pray he will always call me this} bought him his first batch of McDonald's french fries {for those who know me this is of no surprise}.  Of course he enjoyed them {who doesn't?}  We had such a wonderful Christmas with the family and we sure were sad to leave but I know that each Christmas will just get better and better as Thomas grows into an even more amazing kid ... Happy Birthday my little buddy!
